FAQ

Hi folks-

We've had some frequently asked questions, so I thought I'd address them here.

1. Memorial checks - please make them payable to Kate Marventano, noting on the memo that it's for Jim's Memorial Fund. I will be dividing the money and I will announce on the blog where the money is going, so that you all know I won't be purchasing myself a nice pair of Manolo Blahniks with your generous gifts. Please send checks to our home. If you need our address, please contact Judi Kling or Susan Senti.

2. All are welcome to our home after the service; however, I do not have a designated "play area" (the basement isn't done, although Jim Sr. has been working fast and furious). Rachel and Jake will not be here at the house.

3. There are several hotels in the Sheboygan area, including a Holiday Inn Express, Sleep Inn, Blue Harbor Resort, The American Club, and The Inn on Woodlake.

4. Everyone is welcome at one or both of the services. We opted to have two services for convenience sake, not because we feel that anyone should be attending one service or another. I am planning to attend both services, as are Jim Sr. and Janet, Judi and Mark, and my parents.

5. I am still not answering the phone and I only check voicemail once a day.

6. We are doing okay. We are getting by. We are busying ourselves with plans, arrangements and finishing up last minute things before both services.

I am deeply saddened by this loss for all of us, but I take comfort in knowing that Jim is happier now. The last year was most certainly not the way that Jim wanted to live. Although it was a tough time, we got to say goodbye and I believe he was ready to go.

Thanks again for all your prayers and support. I cannot say it enough. And most likely, when I see you and I studder out half a sentence, I'm trying to thank you for your grace and goodwill.

Kate,
You know we love you. We are saddened deeply, but we are happy, that Jim will watch over all of you, ALWAYS. We, as a family, have prayed so hard. I, personally, want you to know that you have become an inspiration to us. In life, we truly meet very few people as neutral and grounded as Jim. These are, in fact, Angels among us. They are given to us by God, to teach us how we should be. You, and your love for Jim, means the most. Right now, if we could reach you Kate, We would hug you so close. We would tell you we love you unconditionally and always. We know that words mean so little, but we really do Love You. Even though all of us know, there is nothing that we can say, or do, we will always carry a piece of Jim with us, it will make us all better people.

Thanks for the information Kate. I've written a little something on my blog for Jim. I have felt so helpless in all of this, being so far away. But I can write.

Love from all of us.

May those beautiful children keep Jim alive in your hearts and bring all of you happiness and comfort in the future. His life, though too short, has made an incredible impact on the people who were lucky enough to know him, and plenty of those who weren't. Jim's love for all of you will carry you. Peace and condolences to each of you.

Just a note to let you know my son Phillip and I are coming up from Atlanta to be there Saturday. I promised Jim I would come back and bring Phillip when I visited with him last May. Frankie Castellana

Dear Kate-
Some time ago, Niki Campbell sent a few of us a note with your blog attached to it. Her sole intention was to ask her close friends to pray for another close friend of her's. I just wanted you to know that we have, indeed, kept you in our prayers. Your stories of love and this amazing friendship that you have with Jim are inspiring, beautiful and life changing. I am humbled by reading them and amazed at your strength as a mother and wife. I cannot begin to say how deeply touched we have been by "knowing you" and I want you to know that we will continue to pray for you and your children. Jim's amazing legacy is everywhere you look. The two of you have touched lives you don't even know and you have changed the way so many of us live our lives.
God Bless-
Kelly Riley
